How Much Does Hardwood Refinishing Cost in the Prescott Area?
PHR's current published pricing for hardwood refinishing in Prescott, and what still needs an in-person visit.
Direct answer
PHR's current published pricing lists $6.50 per square foot for a full sand and refinish and $3 per square foot for an eligible light-wear screen and recoat. Nail-down installation has a $5 per square foot all-in base price. Glue-down installation has a $7.50 per square foot all-in base price, including vapor-barrier adhesive. Repairs have clear packages through 12 boards; other details need an in-home visit.

A closer look at wood
Every floor has details worth seeing.
This PHR-supplied floor photo shows wood detail, not a promise about your home. Use the guide below to understand the question, then look at the actual floor before you choose a path.
We only use our current approved prices
This page uses PHR's current published pricing only. It does not carry over an old $7 refinishing price, an extra stain charge, a published stair price, or broad installed-price ranges from an older version of this site. Those numbers don't match our current, approved pricing.
What changes your actual price
A price per square foot only works if the service fits your floor. In person, we look at the visible condition, any water or pet history, repair questions, access, stairs, room layout, materials, and the look you want. That's how we turn a planning number into a real quote.
- Our calculator doesn't price material choice, repairs, or stairs.
- We don't add an online multiplier for floor condition — we don't have an approved one.
- A product page or finish document does not set your project price.
Why we won't guess your total
We won't turn one example — say, a 500-square-foot floor — into a guaranteed price for your project. We only use numbers PHR has approved, we tell you what's not included, and we save the unanswered questions for the visit, where we can actually see your floor.
Get a real planning number
Use our calculator before you share any contact info, if you want a quick number based on our published pricing. It runs in your browser and doesn't send your project details anywhere — it can only prepare an email for you to send yourself, if you choose to.
Make the next step practical
See your starting price, then look at the floor together.
This guide helps you get started. Your in-home visit is where we look at the floor, talk through your goals, and build the written plan.
